Associate Musical Director

Mrs. Lynda Shewchuk

Lynda Shewchuk is a graduate of O’Neill C.V.I. in Oshawa and Western University in London. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Bachelor of Education.

Lynda is the director of the concert band program of Lakeshore New Horizons, a music teaching and performing program for older adults. As music director, Lynda teaches two beginner classes as well as an intermediate and a senior band.

Since retiring from teaching music at Bowmanville High School, Lynda has taught private music lessons in flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, theory and history. She conducts The Wildwind Flute Choir. She has also worked as a coach with La Jeunesse Youth Orchestra for eleven years.

Lynda Shewchuk played flute and piccolo in the Oshawa Symphony for twenty-five years. She also played flute, clarinet and sax in many musicals with Oshawa Little Theatre. She has performed as a soloist in many churches and at weddings, banquets and other special events.

Lynda has enjoyed membership in the Clarington Concert Band for about seven years.
